Sanland Launches Dedicated Crushing & Screening Service Team
At Sanland Equipment, we’ve brought together a specialised mobile crushing and screening service team available for hire across New Zealand and the Pacific. With skilled technicians and deep industry knowledge, our team fills a major gap for businesses struggling to service or repair their plant and equipment.
Recognising the shortage of skilled service technicians in the industry, we’ve made it a priority to secure this capability in-house. Neil Loughran, a name well-known throughout New Zealand, Australia, and his native Ireland, now leads our service team alongside Nathan Stearns. Neil’s business, Loughran Plant & Mechanical, was a long-time service partner and parts customer of Sanland Equipment. Over time, we built a strong working relationship and ultimately brought Neil and his expertise fully into the Sanland operation.
Nathan, originally from Canada, is a highly skilled welder with a passion for the trade — particularly known for his hard-facing patterns, which customers have come to appreciate both for performance and craftsmanship.
Industry Experience You Can Trust
Neil’s experience spans some of the most recognised crushing and screening brands in the world, including Terex Finlay, Powerscreen, Sandvik, Metso, Kleemann, and more. He started in the industry at 16, working in his uncle’s contracting business in Ireland — a country that’s home to many of the world’s leading crushing equipment brands.
“I’ve built strong networks across Ireland and Australia,” Neil explains. “If we run into a tricky issue, I can often get advice straight from the source — it’s only a phone call away.”
In New Zealand, Neil continued to build his reputation, working with Lincom and Screenworks, including major reconstruction work following the 2016 Kaikōura earthquake. After going out on his own, he became known for fixing equipment that others had written off.
Investing in the Future of Service
Sanland is committed to growing this service offering. We are in the process of establishing a dedicated service workshop, enabling our team to complete full plant repairs, overhauls, welding, conveyor servicing, and short-notice breakdown work for both mobile and static equipment. This new facility will be backed by our well-stocked parts warehouse and extensive catalogue of equipment and components.
“We offer the full package,” says Max. “Fit-for-purpose equipment, reliable parts supply, and a service team that knows the gear inside and out — it’s a cost-effective, long-term solution that adds real value for our customers.”
At Sanland, we also believe in passing on knowledge. With a shrinking pool of experienced technicians, we’re actively training and mentoring younger tradespeople to future-proof the industry and support the next generation of crushing and screening leading professionals.
